Terms & Community Guidelines
Effective October 3, 2026
Kinship exists so adults can find people who feel like family: a mother figure, a brother, a mentor, a whole chosen family. These guidelines keep it warm, respectful and safe. By creating an account, you agree to them.
Community guidelines
You must be 18 or older to use Kinship.
Kinship is not for dating. No romantic or sexual messages, requests or content, ever. Family-role labels describe non-romantic relationships.
No harassment, bullying, hate, threats or discrimination of any kind, including based on race, religion, gender, sexuality, disability or age.
Use your real first name, age and recent photos of yourself. No fake profiles or pretending to be someone else.
Don’t ask for or send money, gifts, banking details, passwords or identity documents. Report anyone who does.
Consent matters. If someone declines, ends a connection, leaves a circle or blocks you, accept it and don’t try to reach them another way.
Don’t share other members’ messages, photos or personal details outside Kinship without their permission.
Kinship isn’t a place to advertise, recruit or promote businesses or causes.
Meeting safely
- Take your time, and get to know people through Kinship first.
- Meet in public places for the first few times, and tell someone you trust where you’re going.
- Arrange your own transport, and leave if anything feels wrong.
- Use Report and Block; you never owe anyone an explanation. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services first.

We review reports and may remove content, limit features, or suspend or delete accounts that break these guidelines or put others at risk, with or without notice. Serious threats or illegal activity may be shared with the authorities.
